3rd Edition of Diabetes and Endocrinology World Conference 2027

Scientific Sessions - DEWC 2027

Pancreatic Beta-Cell Regeneration and Functional Restoration

The beta cells of the pancreas are an integral part of glucose regulation since they are responsible for insulin production. Gradual loss of beta-cell function is one of the hallmarks of various types of diabetes. This particular conference session at the Diabetes and Endocrinology World Conference will focus on modern research on the subject of beta cell preservation, regeneration, transplantation, and restoration of its functionality. Researchers might talk about the development of the beta cells, their differentiation, proliferation, stress, secretion, survival, and other factors that affect the endocrine pancreas functions.

The possible topics include beta-cell models derived from stem cells, pancreatic organoids, cellular reprogramming, tissue engineering, and other laboratory tools used to investigate beta cells. The session will also be dedicated to the issues of translation of experimental studies into safe clinical practice. The session will be interdisciplinary and will address such specialists as endocrinologists, molecular biologists, regenerative medicine researchers, cell biologists, diabetes researchers, and translational researchers. Participants will address the possibilities and limitations of regenerative technologies and will discuss issues of durability, immunoprotection, functional integration, and long-term safety.

The Diabetes and Endocrinology World Conference will present promising trends in this field.
