Endocrine and Metabolic Consequences of Cancer Therapy
Cancer treatment has made great progress, but some of the methods used can cause problems for endocrine organs and metabolism.
During this session, we will look at the issues related to endocrine disorders that can be seen in people receiving modern cancer therapy, and the need to monitor the status of the endocrine system during and after cancer treatment. Subjects to be considered during the session may include problems with thyroid gland function, adrenal disorders, inflammation of the pituitary gland, glucose regulation, gonad problems, metabolic disorders, and effects of cancer immunotherapy on endocrine system.
Scientists may talk about the timing of these disorders, diagnostic evaluation, lab tests, and long-term treatment. During the Diabetes and Endocrinology World Conference, interaction between endocrinologists, oncologists, clinicians, laboratory specialists, and general practitioners will be promoted.
