The link between diabetes and oral health is now becoming one of the key aspects of overall metabolic treatment. Abnormalities in blood glucose regulation can lead to a number of abnormalities within oral cavity, periodontal status, infection, inflammation, and healing. In this session, we will look into the interaction between diabetes and oral health, as well as the significance of integrated medical and dental care.
Some of the topics of research for presentations may include periodontitis, oral infections, alterations of saliva, oral inflammation, decreased healing capacity, dental problems, oral microbiology, and relationships between oral health and metabolism. Researchers may consider the impact of improved oral and periodontal health on other health-related issues and how oral health check-up could be added to the diabetes service.
This session will gather dentists, periodontists, diabetologists, endocrinologists, oral health researchers, nurses, and general practitioners. The conference of Diabetes and Endocrinology World will consider ways of improvement in cooperation between dental and medical teams, in education of patients, in preventive dental treatment, and identification of oral symptoms requiring evaluation of metabolic state.
